The Fannin Lady Rebels and Rebels traveled to Jasper on Tuesday for a pair of games against Pickens and unfortunately were unable to get back to Blue Ridge with any victories, as the Lady Rebels fell 69-56 and the Rebels lost 57-34.

Fannin Falters at Gilmer: Swept by “Cats”

The Fannin High School Rebels basketball teams traveled to Gilmer County on Friday to take on the Bobcats and Lady Bobcats. This was the second meeting of the year for the two rivals, with the first coming in the annual Tip-Off Tournament earlier in the season. Things didn’t go as planned though, as the Lady Rebels fell 61-48 and the Rebels lost 72-41. (more…)

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels volleyball team hosted the Copper Basin Lady Cougars, sweeping both sets for the win (25-5, 25-9). Before the game began the six graduating seniors: Hope Cochran; Madison Franklin; Halle Dean; Courtney Eggleston; Hailey Queen; and Laurel Sabadosh; were all honored in a brief “Senior Night” ceremony before the game. The Fannin Lady Rebels hosted a volleyball match on Thursday night, and came away with a lot to be happy about. The JV squad had two matches, winning against Morris Innovative (25-20, 25-10) and losing to Pickens (25-23, 25-20(L), 25-19(L)). The Fannin Lady Rebels took on the Buford Lady Wolves Friday night, January 4, 2013. The Lady Wolves had the game from the tipoff, it seemed. They took this game by a score of 63-20. Fannin Finishes Tournament on a High Note

The Fannin Lady Rebels and Rebels closed the final day of the ETC Piedmont Mountainside Tip-Off Tournament with a pair of wins over the Copper Basin Lady Cougars and Cougars, leaving both of Fannin’s teams with a 2-1 record in the tournament. The Lady Rebels, despite being awarded the Runner Up Trophy early in the day, finished in a three way tie for first place.
