The Fannin County Lady Rebels are looking great heading into the new year as they wrapped up 2022 with 5 straight victories.
At 11-3 overall, the Lady Reb’s only losses on the year came against a very good Pickens County team in game one of the season, and against Rabun Gap and Union County on the road.
Fannin will begin Region 7AA play this week at home in Blue Ridge, as they host Rockmart on Friday before gearing up for a tenacious non-region battle vs 1A number 3 ranked Elbert County at home on Saturday.
The 2015 Lady Rebels Softball banquet was held at the First Baptist Church Youth Community Building in Blue Ridge, GA. Fannin alumni and now University of North Georgia Nighthawks Softball members Alexis Collis and Candace German were in attendance with their 2015 Division II NCAA Softball National Championship Trophy. Coaches, family and friends were all in attendance as Coach Dyer and Coach Armstrong handed out the awards from the past season.
The 2015 Lady Rebel season has come and gone, but not before a great season. Coach Dyer started off the banquet awards with Asst. Director of Enrollment Services at the UNG Blue Ridge Campus, Lori Bramlett. Mrs. Bramlett recognized Alexis and Candace for there role in winning the 2015 NCAA National Championship. The two girls talked about getting ready for the night, keeping God first and surviving college life.
Coach Armstrong and Coach Dyer started off the 2015 Lady Rebels banquet by presenting awards to the JV Lady Rebels and finished with the varsity Lady Rebels and a special presentation to the eight seniors that will be leaving this year. Incase you missed the banquet, go here to watch it.

Coach Dyer presented the Seniors with a plaque for there wall. He talked about how each of the eight senior ladies impacted both the team and him personally over the last four years.
Heather Collis was also recognized for all the years of hard work and dedication she has put into the program. She was presented a gift certificate for an evening out. Coach Dyer thanked her and the entire Softball Booster Club for the thankless and tireless job they have done throughout his five years at Fannin. He also said that of all his years coaching that this was the most active and hardest working Booster Club he has had the pleasure of working with.
The Fannin County High School Rebels softball team, after finishing fourth in the Region 7-AAA tournament, traveled to Ringgold to take on the number one seed, Lady Tigers. The Lady Rebels route to a state championship was ruined at Ringgold, as ran off two straight wins, sweeping the Lady Rebels 2-0, (10-2, 7-4). (more…)
The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels and Rebels basketball teams hosted the North Hall Spartans. Neither home team was able to smite the Spartans as the Lady Rebels lost 64-55 and the Rebels went down 67-36. (more…)
Missy Dixon, second basewoman for the Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team, signed her letter of intent to play softball for the Northwest Florida State College Raiders. Dixon set a single season state record for triples with 14. (more…)
The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels and Rebels basketball teams traveled to West Hall to take on the Lady Spartans and Spartans. Both Rebels teams encountered road woes, as the Lady Rebels lost by four, 40-36 and the Rebels were routed 48-30. (more…)
The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels and Rebels basketball teams travelled to Hiawassee Dam to take on the Eagles. The Lady Rebels lost 50-41 while the Rebels routed 64-49. Both games were mired in much disputed calls. (more…)
The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels volleyball team hosted its annual end of the year banquet in the FCHS cafeteria. With friends and family in attendance, the second year program bid adieu to its seniors and recognized both junior varsity and varisty participates. (more…)

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels volleyball team hosted the Copper Basin Lady Cougars for the second annual senior night celebration. Fannin swept the “Basin” with win two wins of 25-13 and 25-17. The seniors honored in a pregame ceremony, with their parents were: Abigail Anderson; Chandler Byrd; Morgan Chastain; Bethany Deal; Devanie Lynette Flanagan; Brittany O’Neal; and Logan O’Neal. The Fannin High School Lady Rebels softball team hosted the Lady Spartans of West Hall for the annual “Pink Out” cancer awareness game. The Lady Rebels shut out the Lady Spartans 8-0 after a brief ceremony to honor those who have been touched by cancer. Barbara King, a teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary School and cancer survivor, threw out the first pitch. (more…)
The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels volleyball team traveled to Pickens County to take on the Pickens High School Dragonettes. Despite winning the first set, 25-21, the Lady Rebels fell in three sets, losing the last two 26-24 (in overtime) and 25-19. (more…)
