The Rebels and Lady Rebels had a busy weekend this past week taking on the Dawson Tigers and the Pickens Dragons. The teams split with Dawson, with the Lady Rebels falling and the Rebels pulling off a come from behind win. Fannin swept Pickens in the match ups.

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels and Rebels basketball teams hosted new Region 7-AAA member Franklin. Both Rebel squads came into the game at 3-2; unfortunately Fannin fell to .500 in both contests, with the Lady Rebels going down 64-59, and the Rebels falling 46-37. (more…)

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels and Rebels basketball teams competed in the annual Holiday Tip Off Tournament. This year’s tournament was held at Gilmer High School. The Lady Rebels finished as the runner up to the host team Lady Cats, while the Rebels finished as the runner up to Pickens High School, with wins over Copper Basin and Gilmer High School. (more…)

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels and Rebels basketball team traveled to White County for battles with the Warriors. The home teams took the sweep, due to a persistent pressing defense that procured a 46-38 victory for the Lady Warriors and an 80-32 victory for the Warriors. (more…)
Fannin Finds Both Teams in Finals of “Mountain Top Holiday Classic”

The Fannin County High School Rebels basketball teams hosted the “Mountain Top Holiday Classic” tournament, with both teams finishing in the Finals. The Lady Rebels finished first, beating Hiawassee Dam 48-41. The Rebels finished second, as Fannin fell, 69-43, to Excel Christian. Fannin had five players make the All-Tournament Team: Mckenzey Ryder, Molly Chandler and Lindsey Humphrey, for the Lady Rebels, Nolan “Skip” Hicks and Brandon Jordan for the Rebels. (more…)

The Fannin Lady Rebels hosted a volleyball match on Thursday night, and came away with a lot to be happy about. The JV squad had two matches, winning against Morris Innovative (25-20, 25-10) and losing to Pickens (25-23, 25-20(L), 25-19(L)). The varsity played one match against Pickens and won in two sets (25-15, 27-25). (more…)

Fannin High School’s basketball teams played in the Region 7-AAA regional tournament this week with mixed results, as the Rebels went one-and-done and the Lady Rebels posted a 2-1 record, which was good enough for third in the tournament and a state tournament berth. (more…)

The Fannin Lady Rebels tipped off against the White County Lady Warriors Tuesday night, January 15, 2013. The game was very competitive throughout, but saw the Lady Warriors pull away in the fourth and win 46-37. The boys did not fair as well as the Warriors coasted to a 75-32 victory. (more…)

Fannin Finishes Tournament on a High Note

The Fannin Lady Rebels and Rebels closed the final day of the ETC Piedmont Mountainside Tip-Off Tournament with a pair of wins over the Copper Basin Lady Cougars and Cougars, leaving both of Fannin’s teams with a 2-1 record in the tournament. The Lady Rebels, despite being awarded the Runner Up Trophy early in the day, finished in a three way tie for first place.

Fannin Has Mixed Results in ETC Tipoff Tournament Opener

The Fannin Lady Rebels and Rebels hit the court on Saturday against the Pickens Dragonettes and Dragons in the opening day of the 5th annual ETC Tipoff Tournament and saw the team have mixed results, as the Lady Rebels rallied back and came up just short of a victory and the Rebels dominated in all four quarters of play.
