Lady Rebels Stung at Home by Lady Jackets

The Fannin Lady Rebels volleyball team hosted Hayesville’s Lady Jackets. The visitors stung the home team, as both the junior varsity and varsity teams from Hayesville went home with victories. The JV Lady Rebels team was swept in two sets, while the varsity team lost in three sets.Despite opening with three straight Aces, the Lady Rebels JV team fell behind 12-7 after a 12-4 run by Hayesville. The Lady Rebels could not muster an offensive attack, as the Lady Jackets outscored the Lady Rebels 13-6 over the rest of game one, winning 25-10.

Game two began with a 5-1 Hayesville run. The Lady Rebels could not recover and the Lady Jacket flew away with a 25-17 set win and a 2-0 match victory.

The varsity contest began with both teams trading points, there were three tie scores in the first four points; however a 19-8 run by Hayesville after a 4-4 tie gave the visitors a 25-12 game one victory.

Game two saw the Lady Jackets race out to a 5-1 lead; however, the Lady Rebels crept back into the game, eventually tying the game at 13-13.

The Lady Rebels, led by Hope Cochran throwing her own personal black party, outpaced the Jackets with a 12-2 run that secured a 25-15 game two win for the home team.

The decisive game three began with yet another block for a kill from Cochran, however after the two teams battled back and forth to a 5-5 tie, the Lady Jackets outscored the Lady Rebels 20-7 to take a 25-12 set, and 2-1 match victory.
