Fannin loses to Chestatee in walk-off fashion

The Fannin County rebels (0-5, 0-2) played in their best game of the year last night against the Chestatee War Eagles (2-6, 0-4). Unfortunately the Rebels came up short and fell to the War Eagles 10-9 thanks to a seventh inning walk-off.

 

A walk-off single by Lacie James of the Chestatee War Eagles ripped Fannin County’s heart out last night. The game was tied at nine after Emma Mitchell of the Rebels hit a home run in the sixth.

Despite the loss, Fannin County did collect twelve hits in the high-scoring affair, but unfortunately Chestatee had thirteen hits on their way to victory.

Fannin County opened up scoring in the second inning when Jayden Bailey tripled on the first pitch of her at bat, driving in one run.

Chestatee scored four runs in the fifth inning to make sure that things did not get out of hand and ensure that Fannin would not run away with it. Ashlyn Gibbs, Madyson Gibbs, and Brook Bachelier all drove in runs in the frame.

Isabel long was on the mound for Chestatee. She surrendered nine runs on tweleve hits over seven innings. She also struck out two.

Jayden Bailey got the start in the circle for Fannin County. She allowed thirteen hits and ten runs over six innings, striking out three.

Riley Davis, Emma Mitchell, Jadeyn Holloway, and Chelsey Frye all colected multiple hits for the Rebels. Fannin County was also able to steal nine bases in the game, with Jadeyn Holloway stealing multiple bases.

Fannin County also did not commit one error in the field. Riley Davis was a perfect four for four in the field.

Alexis Collis Gives a Hoot

Fannin County High School senior softball player, Alexis Collis, signed her letter of intent with The Illustrious Kennesaw State University, where she will become a member of the Hootie Hoo nation. Six Softball Players Make All-Region Team for the Lady Rebels

The Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team’s unprecedented success, which ended in a trip to the “Elite Eight in Columbus, produced six players that made the 8AA All Region Team. Infielder Alexis Collis and outfielder Candace “Blitzkrieg” German made first team. Pitcher Mercedes “Sadie” Golden, infielders Karly Thompson and Missy Dixon, and outfielder Natalie McLaughlin made the second team. Lady Rebels Ride High in Home Opener

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels varsity softball team defeated the Dragonettes of Pickens High School 5-2 in the home opener for the Lady Rebels. The game began as a pitchers’ duel between Fannin’s Sadie Golden and the “Nettes’” Savannah Buck. The Lady Rebels pulled away in the bottom of the fourth, scoring two runs to take the lead for good.
