The 2015 Lady Rebels Softball banquet was held at the First Baptist Church Youth Community Building in Blue Ridge, GA. Fannin alumni and now University of North Georgia Nighthawks Softball members Alexis Collis and Candace German were in attendance with their 2015 Division II NCAA Softball National Championship Trophy. Coaches, family and friends were all in attendance as Coach Dyer and Coach Armstrong handed out the awards from the past season.
The 2015 Lady Rebel season has come and gone, but not before a great season. Coach Dyer started off the banquet awards with Asst. Director of Enrollment Services at the UNG Blue Ridge Campus, Lori Bramlett. Mrs. Bramlett recognized Alexis and Candace for there role in winning the 2015 NCAA National Championship. The two girls talked about getting ready for the night, keeping God first and surviving college life.
Coach Armstrong and Coach Dyer started off the 2015 Lady Rebels banquet by presenting awards to the JV Lady Rebels and finished with the varsity Lady Rebels and a special presentation to the eight seniors that will be leaving this year. Incase you missed the banquet, go here to watch it.

Coach Dyer presented the Seniors with a plaque for there wall. He talked about how each of the eight senior ladies impacted both the team and him personally over the last four years.
Heather Collis was also recognized for all the years of hard work and dedication she has put into the program. She was presented a gift certificate for an evening out. Coach Dyer thanked her and the entire Softball Booster Club for the thankless and tireless job they have done throughout his five years at Fannin. He also said that of all his years coaching that this was the most active and hardest working Booster Club he has had the pleasure of working with.
The University of North Georgia Nighthawks softball team won the program’s first ever national championship with a 5-0 win over Dixie State to claim the NCAA Division II 2015 Softball National Championship. The team, featuring former Fannin Lady Rebels’ stars, Alexis Collis and Candace “Blitzkrieg” German, in addition to the national title, set a school record with 54 wins against eight losses. (more…)
The Fannin County Lady Rebels’ softball team celebrated its unprecedented run to the “Elite Eight” of the state tournament at the annual end of the year banquet. The “Elite Eight” appearance will be immortalized with a banner that will be displayed at the softball field. (more…)
Fannin County High School senior softball player, Alexis Collis, signed her letter of intent with The Illustrious Kennesaw State University, where she will become a member of the Hootie Hoo nation. Collis will be playing for head coach Scott Whitlock and the Fighting Owls beginning next school year. (more…)
Alexis Collis was selected to play in the 2011 Georgia Dugout Club All State Fastpitch Game which took place in Columbus, Georgia November 11-12, 2011. 64 players from across the state were chosen from a record number of nominations. (more…)
The Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team’s unprecedented success, which ended in a trip to the “Elite Eight in Columbus, produced six players that made the 8AA All Region Team. Infielder Alexis Collis and outfielder Candace “Blitzkrieg” German made first team. Pitcher Mercedes “Sadie” Golden, infielders Karly Thompson and Missy Dixon, and outfielder Natalie McLaughlin made the second team. Thompson and Dixon are the only two who will be back as everyone else is a graduating senior. (more…)
The Fannin Lady Rebels fast pitch softball team’s unprecedented run to the “Elite Eight” in Columbus Georgia came to an end. The Lady Rebels will “Remember the Titans” of Blessed Trinity, who used the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game 4-3 knocking Fannin out of the double elimination tournament. Fannin fell in the first game of the weekend 5-0 to the Pirates of Pike County. (more…)
The Lady Rebels softball team of Fannin County High School took the long rode to Dade County, in order to take on the Lady Wolverines. Fannin’s furor proved to be to much as the Lady Rebels won games one and three to take the series and advance to the second round of the playoffs. Fannin will host Lovett on Wednesday October 19th. The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team hosted the Panthers of Union County, and pounded the Panthers with a plethora of timely hits and strike outs to secure a 6-0 victory. The game was noteworthy for more than just the win by the home team. The day was commemorated as Cancer Awareness day, which involved the members of the Lady Rebels’ team honoring those who have battled cancer. (more…)
The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team hosted the Lady Wildcats of Rabun County on a night which saw the five Fannin senior softball players honored: Ashley Watkins, Kelley Watkins, Alexis Collis, Sadie Golden, and Natalie McLaughlin.
