The Fannin County wrestlers gathered a three day mini camp ran by Fannin County High School head coach, David Henson, as well as coaches from the youth, and middle school programs. Wrestlers from as young as seven to the high school level were invited to, and participated in the camp. Three Rebels Ride Through Sectionals to State

The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team traveled to Morgan County to take part in the Sectionals Tournament. The top eight wrestlers from each weight class who place at Sectionals move on to the State Tournament. The Rebels had three out four possible place in the top eight and qualify for State. (more…)

The Fannin County High School wrestling team traveled to Lumpkin for the 7-AAA Area Traditional Tournament. FCHS under the tutelage of new head coach, David Henson, had 13 out of 14 wrestlers place, and four qualify for Sectionals with a chance to compete for a State Championship. (more…)

Rebels Blessed at Blessed Trinity

The Fannin County High School wrestling team blessed the Blessed Trinity Tournament with its presence. Five from Fannin placed in the tournament, with Matthew Seabolt and Ben Bruce placing the highest of all the Rebels. Both placed fourth, with Seabolt placing at 126 and Bruce placing at 132. (more…)

The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team hosted the 8-AAA Area Duals tournament where Woodward Academy and Blessed Trinity claimed the two spots available in the State Tournament by finishing first and second respectively in the Area. Fannin fell in both of its two Duals, 54-16 to Dawson and 44-33 to Pike; however, the Rebels, who will lose only two seniors from this year’s team, Blake Carroll and Matthew Seabolt, continued to show marked improvement from previous years. The Fannin County High School Rebels rode to Union County to take part in the “Friday Night Fights” Dual tournament. The Rebels rose over Hayesville, 36-27, but fell to the hosting Union Panthers, 60-24, White County, 48-21, Gilmer High School, 77-3, and Rabun, 48-36. (more…)

Rebels Wrestling in Top Third at “King of the Mountain”

The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team traveled north to Hiawassee to take part in the “King of the Mountain” traditional tournament that took place at Towns County High School. The Rebels finished in the top third of all competitors, seventh out of 21 teams, and had two place winners. Colton Carpenter and Ben Bruce placed third and fourth respectively. (more…)
Wrestling Rebels Mangle Murphy and Upend Union

The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team hosted the Union County and Murphy NC teams in a Tri-Dual Meet. The two seniors from the 2013-14 season, Blake Carroll and Matthew Seabolt, were honored as well. Murphy was mangled 54-24, in a Rebels rout, followed by a 63-18 pounding of the Panthers of Union.
