The Fannin REACH scholars visited Berry College March 22, 2018, for an information session, Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) activities at the HackBerry Lab, and a campus tour.

The students were working with circuit boards, computers, and fruit to simulate touch screen electronic devices.

The Fannin Rebel’s Jr. CB #24 Clay Ware is this week’s top performer. Although it was a tough decision this week Ware’s 6-tckls, 1-asst, 2-INT one of which was a touchdown and 2 pass break-ups. His performance on the field was a testament to this years Rebel team.

Former Fannin County High School Rebels baseball player and two time USA South Player of the Year, Nick Dean, became the first ever Maryville Scot to be drafted by a Major League Baseball team will the Los Angeles Dodgers to him in the 32nd round with pick number 972. (more…)
The 2016 Fannin County High School Rebels baseball team will have a new head man as Jon Ayers has officially begun his tenure as the new coach. Ayers spent the 2015 season assisting previous head coach, David Dyer, who will continue to steward the Lady Rebels softball program. Ayers recently completed his first foray leading the Dugout Club’s youth baseball camp. He spoke to FYN about the camp, taking over the program and his outlook for the 2016 season. (more…)
The Fannin County High School Rebels basketball teams, headed by Suzianne Pass (girls) and Scott Eggleston (boys) hosted the annual Camp of Champions for the Fannin County youth and middle school ballers. The camp focuses on teaching fundamentals while providing a fun competitive basketball experience. (more…)
The Fannin County wrestlers gathered a three day mini camp ran by Fannin County High School head coach, David Henson, as well as coaches from the youth, and middle school programs. Wrestlers from as young as seven to the high school level were invited to, and participated in the camp. Fannin County High School Rebels tennis player, Austin Kuhr, was recently awarded the 2015 FCHS Boys’ Tennis Coaches Award. Kuhr finished the 2015 season, his senior season, with an 8-1 record, with the lone loss coming at the hands of an undefeated player. Kuhr is the only player in FCHS history to be the number one singles player all four years of his varsity career. He finished his career with a 30-14 record with a winning record every year and two (2014-2015) Faculty Mixed Doubles Tournament Championships. Kuhr, and head coach, Robert Evans, spoke briefly about his career with the Rebels. (more…)
The Fannin County High School Rebels football team will have two new offensive and defensive coordinators, as Justin Pierce and Adam Turner will be handling those duties during the upcoming 2015 season. Previous offensive coordinator, Gary McPeek, recently took a vice principal/football coach job in his native state of Kentucky. Turner was brought in in order to allow Pavao to delegate more of the defensive coaching duties, in particular the outside linebackers, as that is the position group that Turner will work with most closely. The Fannin County High School tennis team held its fifth annual Player Faculty Doubles Tournament. The team of Austin Kuhr and Sally Pavao defeated Brooklyn Nazerian and Erick Cioffi 6-1 in the Finals. (more…)
The Fannin County High School Rebels track team competed at the Sectional Meet with a chance to move on to the State Meet. Lady Rebel, Julie Jacobs, qualified for the State Meet in the Pole Vault with a 1st place jump.
The Fannin County High School Rebels baseball team closed the season with a 16-1 loss to Region 7-AAA champion, Franklin. Fannin finished the season with a record of 9-14. (more…)
