Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death of Mr. Michael Akins, age 65 of Blairsville who passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday evening, August 9, 2014.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating.

Interment will follow in Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Michael Akins, Ab Garrett, Dale Hamby, Johnny Hamby, Keith Lager, Jim Stone, Deyton Dyer & Adam Gaddis. Honorary Pallbearers will include Greg, Hoyt & Loy Hamby.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.
