The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team finished with five place winners at the Amicalola Invitational. Kaleb Chancey was the Rebel to run the farthest for Fannin in the tournament, finishing second at 106lbs.
Head coach, Joshua Snider, described Chancey’s first day match up with the number one seed from Dawsonville, a 2-1 victory, as,
“The match of his life.”
Chancey had two one point victories in the tournament, the other a 5-4 win in the semifinals.
Matthew Seabolt, who finished third at 126, boosted his bottom game “hitting his shrug” to beat East Hall.
“We had been working on that,” Snider said.
Both Sean and Blake Callihan also finished third, at 182 and 220 respectively. The Callihans were calamites for opponents in the consolation finals. Both finished with pins for wins.
Matthew Holtstander and Dakota Pierce each finished fourth for Fannin, at 126 and 152 respectively.
Fannin will next face the 8AAA Area Duals Tournament.
