Three Rebels Ride Through Sectionals to State

The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team traveled to Morgan County to take part in the Sectionals Tournament. The top eight wrestlers from each weight class who place at Sectionals move on to the State Tournament. The Rebels had three out four possible place in the top eight and qualify for State.Kayleb Chancey was the Rebels highest place winner, with a fourth place finishing at 113.

Head coach, David Henson, had this to say about Chancey,

“He only had two losses, and both were by only one point to the same wrestler from Appling County. Kayleb had a great tournament and (we’re) looking for him to do well next week at State.”

Justin Wheat finished with a sixth place finish at 106.

Henson said,

“He had a great showing and wrestled well.”

Parker Brown finished seventh at 138, however, he avenged a loss from last week’s Area Tournament.

Bradley Flowers finished one match short of placing at 220.
