FANNIN COUNTY, Ga. – Come check out the grand opening of the Healthy Pet Clinic on Monday, March 27th!

Recently Brian and Lisa Pritchard were given a tour through the new Healthy Pet Clinic, preceding its grand opening!

Brian Pritchard as he toured the grounds for the new Healthy Pet Clinic.

The Clinic is a low cost clinic formed by the Humane Society of Blue Ridge to ‘provide basic veterinary care to those residents of Fannin County that could otherwise not afford them’.

The new setup will give new options for pet owners by making excellent care and top  notch facilities a reality.

According to the Humane Society of Blue Ridge, “to utilize the clinic, you must apply and demonstrate financial need by providing proof of current financial aid. Once you submit your application with proof of aid, you will be notified of approval and can call to set up an appointment. Each year you can resubmit proof of financial aid to continue to utilize the clinic.”

The humane society has an excellent staff and the pets are given a loving environment until they are able to be placed in their fur-ever homes.

According to the Humane Society of Blue Ridge, If you are not one of the ones in need of a cost affordable pet clinic, please consider partnering with them so someone in need can receive these services.

“Would you consider being a Healthy Pet Hero by signing up to commit at least $20 per month to help subsidize the clinic? We will be operating at a loss each year in order to provide these low-cost services to the community…”

Throw A Dog A Bone

Fast & Furriest

Hello HSBR Family!
Have you been to the HSBR Campus lately?  This is where our Adoption Center, Memorial Garden & Dog Park are located, at 171 Mineral Springs Rd…
We mentioned in our last communication that we had a generous sponsor that wanted to help us provide some shade and seating at the dog park, to be installed this summer. THANK YOU ANONYMOUS! 😁
With improvements in mind, we are reviving & renewing a program that we started many years ago and frankly, lost track of.  If you have been to the dog park, you may have seen some “dog bones” with business names or personal names on them.
These bones have recently been taken down – they have been there since before 2014.  The plan originally was to help fund the park with these dog bones on the fences… the idea was to charge $250 per bone, and renewed the same amount annually.
Well, we are back again with fresh signs and a fresh attitude to get this program rolling and get some fun new bones up with up-to-date businesses and families to decorate our dog park.
The cost is $250 per year, paid annually by the date you originally signed up.
The money from this program will help us maintain the park (if you have been there lately, you will have noticed with all the rain & snow we had this winter, it has been quite muddy).  We hope that with this “Throw A Dog A Bone” program, we will be able to better maintain the park for all to enjoy!
So with that, what do you think?  Will you Throw A Dog A Bone?
Designed for You!
These dog bones featured here are examples of the new signs that will go up starting in April.
You can have your logo or family name, or your dog(s) names, or whatever you want on your sign!
Amazon Smile and iGive are two easy ways to give to HSBR while you do your regular shopping online!  Click below on each logo for details
THANK YOU!!!!

BarktoberFest – Humane Society of Blue Ridge

Community
Greetings!
We hope this note finds you well!  Despite COVID, and the changes it has brought about, we have been busier than ever at our adoption center with record numbers of adoptions of our feline and canine family members.
We hope you are following along on Facebook to see our animals happily finding their forever homes…  it is heartwarming to see!
If you are looking to adopt, please check out our Petfinder Page, it has the most accurate list of animals currently in our care.
We also wanted to let you know about an upcoming event in October, where the proceeds benefit HSBR.
 October 4th, from 1 – 5.
As you know, due to COVID and limitations on gathering sizes, in April we had to cancel Taste of Blue Ridge.  TOBR is our largest yearly fundraiser and is vital as it helps keep our adoption facility open & operating and allows us to take care of our four-legged friends.
Barktoberfest will give us an opportunity to come together, outside 😎, and enjoy the fall air with our friends & family, including the furry ones!
Tickets are $30, and that gets you two beer tickets along with a commemorative Barktoberfest solo cup koozie.  You can also enjoy live music by The Litt Family Band featuring Robbie Litt, a 50/50 Raffle, Silent Auction, and Fabulous Hotdogs by Jeff’s Hotdogs… Bring your friends and family (furry and non-furry). It is going to be FUN!!
We have tickets on sale online, just click here to get yours!  This will help us to prevent crowding at the entrance – it’s easy to do!
Click here for your Barktoberfest Tickets
We also wanted to extend a warm THANK YOU for your generous and awesome support for the Carolina Carports – we were able to purchase several!
They are still on the way, as everything seems to be on backorder these days.  As soon as we get them and get them set up, we will be sure to send some pictures!  Thanks again!

Every person he sees he wants to say “Hi” to. He is very friendly and loving. Checkers does need to be trained on some things, but with him being treat orientated it should be fairly easy. Humane Society of Blue Ridge Supporters, due to the growing concerns must cancel the Taste of Blue Ridge event

Community, News
Taste of BR

Unfortunately, the venue is not available to reschedule anytime later this year. Taste of Blue Ridge is the largest
and most crucial fundraiser for the Humane Society of Blue Ridge (HSBR). It allows us to provide the necessary
shelter, food and medical care for our animals, support our adoption program, fund our $20 spay and neuter assist
program, distribute free pet food to needy families, and fund our TNR (trap, neuter, release) program for feral cats.
Given the financial toll this unprecedented event is having on families, we project the need to shelter abandoned
or surrendered animals will grow significantly during this crisis.

With that said, we must prioritize the health and well-being of our supporters, our volunteers, and our staff and not
place anyone at risk. If you purchased tickets, we humbly ask that you consider the purchase of your tickets to the
event as a donation to the Humane Society of Blue Ridge.

Your donations are tax-deductible as allowed by the law. Your canceled check or credit card statement is your
receipt. If you paid cash and would like a receipt sent to you, please email [email protected] If you
were not able to attend Taste of Blue Ridge this year but wanted to, this is a great opportunity to support HSBR
and all its efforts in saving even more animals lives moving forward.

We have also taken precautionary measures at our Adoption Center and our Thrift Store.
The Adoption Center will remain closed to the public until further notice, but if you do find your perfect furry friend
through our website humanesocietyofblueridge.com – (click on PETFINDER in the top right hand corner),
call us 706-632-4357, and we can schedule a time to meet and greet.

The Thrift Store will be closed until further notice. We hope to be back in full operation as soon as possible.
Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for HSBR. We truly appreciate your patience, your
generosity, and your continued support. Your dedication to HSBR and the cats & dogs we save is always appreciated;
especially in this challenging time.

If, however, you purchased a ticket to Taste of Blue Ridge and would prefer to get a refund, please
email [email protected] by April 10, 2020.

We will miss seeing everyone this year at Taste of Blue Ridge and look forward to your support of this event in 2021.

If you would like to support us bearing in mind our largest annual fundraiser has been canceled, you can do so by going to this site!

2020 Taste of Blue Ridge event is Canceled

Community, News
Dear Humane Society of Blue Ridge Supporters,
We have been closely following the developments regarding the growing concerns over the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  Recently the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated its guidance recommending cancellation of gatherings of ten (10) people or less for at least the next eight (8) weeks. dog
