Carl Douglas “Doug” Gobble, age 69 of Turtletown, TN passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin. He was born on June 30, 1950 in Polk County, TN to the late Henry Raymond Gobble, Jr. and Mattie Lou Nari Gobble. Doug was a truck driver for Superior Trucking. He was an owner of Copper Basin Express. Doug was a member of the Turtletown Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife of forty-nine years, Marsha Gobble of Turtletown, TN; sons, Michael Gobble (Althea) of Blue Ridge, GA, Jody Gobble (Ermelleana) of Ellijay, GA and Billy Gobble of Turtletown, TN; sisters, Lou Ellen Rose (Dennis, deceased) of Turtletown, TN, Marti Fowler (John) of Ducktown, TN and Maria Mull (Mike) of Ducktown, TN; sister-in-law, Greta Dalbeck (Gene) and two grandchildren, Victoria Ann Behrens and Jack Gobble also survive.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Ray Harper and Rev. Luke Hall officiating. Music was by Janice Reid and Trissie Harper. Interment followed in Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Gobble, Jeremy Hall, Daniel Hall, Chris Mull, Shad Fowler and Kenny Martin. Mary Pauline “Polly” Cain, age 78 of McCaysville, GA passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at her home. She was born on November 30, 1940 in Murphy, NC to the late Lloyd Edgar Morrow and Alice Belle Graves Morrow. She was a butcher at Kroger. Polly was of the Baptist Faith. She loved her family and gardening. Polly was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Judy Garrett; five brothers, Ralph Morrow, Clint Morrow, Eldon Morrow, Ray Morrow and infant brother and two sisters, Hazel Reid and Dorothy Tootsie Fralick.
Survivors are son, Johnny Cain (Sheree) of Rydal, GA; daughter, Virginia “Jenny” Loudermilk (Scott) of Dallas, GA; brothers, Kenny Morrow of Turtletown, TN, Howard Morrow of Blue Ridge, GA, Donnie Morrow of Ducktown, TN and Glen Morrow of Farner, TN; five grandchildren, Derrick Dale, Todd Loudermilk, Tyler Loudermilk, Justin Loudermilk, Jeremy Loudermilk and Casey Cain and four great-grandchildren, Dylan Dale, Allie Dale, Katy Dale and Thor Loudermilk also survive.

Frances Geraldine “Jerri” Walden, age 71, of Epworth, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. She was born on May 29, 1948 in Blue Ridge, GA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Poley Gordon Campbell and Mamie Arlean Patterson Campbell; son, Tim Walden; and sister, Ruth Ann Key.
She is survived by her husband, W.O. “Moose” Walden; daughter, Tammy Walden; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Kim Walden; daughter-in-law, Rebekah Walden; grandchildren, Jeremiah Bowers, Isaac Bowers, Rochelle Bowers, Aaron Walden, Austin Walden, Grace Walden, and Danielle Walden; great-grandson, Michael Bowers; sister, Wanda Campbell; and many other relatives also survive.

Rev. Kirkland was born on July 14, 1935 in Slocomb Al, to the late Roy Kirkland and the late Alline Golden Kirkland. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Rev. Kirkland loved aviation and flew thirty years in Africa for the International Mission Board. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where he served as Associate Pastor for many years. Rev. Kirkland also served as Associate Pastor at Zion Baptist Church in Suches Ga.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Diane Kirkland of Thomaston Ga, daughters Mrs. Cindy Kirkland Cone of Pine Mountain Ga, Mrs. Sharon Kirkland (David) Timms of Pine Mountain Ga, step daughter Mrs. Teresa Hall Ponder of Lagrange Ga, step son Mr. Raymond (Michelle) Ponder of Suches Ga. 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren.

The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Mr. Carl Broward Williams, age 90 of Hiawassee who passed away at his home on Sunday morning, November 3, 2019.
Mr. Williams was born in Plant City, Florida on January 3, 1929 to the late Eddie Broward Williams and Ruby Florene (Bailey) Williams. As an industrious boy, Carl would ride 25 miles each day on his bicycle delivering newspapers. Shortly after high school, Carl started a 32 year long career in the phosphate mining industry. He held various positions from Research and Development to Quality Control, and eventually became Plant Superintendent. He always held a humble spirit. He retired at the age of 55, beginning a new phase of life working full time on the family cattle ranch.
Carl was very loving and personable. He was quiet and reserved by nature. Gifted with a mechanical mind, Carl could fix just about anything and enjoyed repairing cars and rebuilding tractors. He began a new hobby of woodworking when he moved to the mountains. Carl was an active member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and helped with youth activities. He loved gospel music and accumulated a total of 60 years singing bass/baritone in his church choirs. He and his wife, Hilda, had a love of exploration and travel. They have twice traveled the United States, visited various parts of Canada, and toured most of Europe.
He will be warmly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family: devoted wife of 70 years, Hilda Williams; daughter & son-in-law, Judy & Richard Kaufman; son & daughter-in-law, Gordon & Linda Williams; and son & daughter-in-law, Jason & Cathy Williams. Also, sharing in his legacy are 6 grandchildren, Jaime Beuchat, Jennifer Williams, Emily Williams, Trevor Williams, Caitlin Williams, and Cameron Williams; and 3 great grandchildren, Connor Beuchat, Curren Beuchat, and Cayden Beuchat. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Florene Frazier.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday November 7, 2019 at McConnell Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Taylor and Rev. Danny Byers officiating. Music will be presented by Wayne Hundley and Danny Byers. Interment will follow at Osborn Cemetery. Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mary Christine Raper, age 85, of Blairsville, who passed away Tuesday, November 5th, 2019 in Lifecare Center in Ducktown, Tennessee.
Christine was born and raised in Union County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Gurley Raper and the late Blanche Cook Raper. She loved children and she loved her family. Christine never met a stranger and delighted in talking with people. Putting up food from the garden for winter, cooking and eating were some of her favorite things to do. She was known as a Godly woman, and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Union County.She was so happy just to get all dressed up in her Sunday best to go to church services.
Surviving family members include numerous nieces and nephews, including Liz Beavers and her husband Kenneth, and Sandy Sneed and her husband Randall.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, November 8th, 2019, to be held at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Joe Patterson, Jeff Patterson, Dave Patterson, James Patterson, Steven Towe, and Cecil Beaver. Ms. Edna Harrison Beavers, age 91, of McCaysville, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 31, 2019. She was born in the Staffordtown community, in Copperhill, TN, on August 27, 1928, to the late Grady & Edith Chancey Harrison.

Mrs. Betty Harper Swearington, age 83, of Blue Ridge passed away Wednesday evening, October 30, 2019, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. She was born January 2, 1936, in Fannin County, Georgia, to the late Cliff and Maude Collins Harper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike Swearington, and siblings, Juanita, and James.
Betty retired from Lincoln Financial, and she had been an active member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge. She liked deep-sea fishing, spending time on the Coast of North Carolina, listening to Billy Graham, and Southern Gospel Music. She loved dogs, and they held a special place in her heart.
Survivors include her niece, Shirley Foster of California, special friends, Tracy Radebaugh, Karon (Jerry) Monnett, and Larissa (Jack) Jones.
