Congratulations to Sawyer Moreland for being Team FYN Sports Player of the Week for Rebel Football! 

 

Sawyer is a sophomore at Fannin County High School who is a wide receiver and defensive back on the football team. Not only does the sophomore play football, but he also participates in baseball for the school. 

 

The dual athlete had an amazing game last night against the Cedar Grove Saints in the first round of playoffs as he blocked an extra point on defense, saved 2 touchdowns from being scored off of the kickoff return, and almost blocked a punt which gave Fannin good field position to score on next drive. Moreland played hard for Fannin and proved to be an asset in the game!

Team FYN Sports Writer’s Player of the Week- Micah O’Neal

Player Of The Week, Team FYN Sports

Congratulations to Micah O’Neal for being selected as the Player of the Week for Fannin Football!

O’Neal is a Junior at Fannin County High School who is an Offensive Lineman and a Linebacker for the Rebels Football Team. The Junior had a great game last night against the North Hall Trojans as he made a lot of big stops and a few quarterback sacks!

Writer’s Player of the Week- #35 Will Mosley

Congratulations to Will Mosley for being Team FYN Sports Player of the Week for Rebel Football! 

Will is a Senior at Fannin County High School who is a linebacker, running back, and long snapper for the football team. Not only is Mosley involved in football at the school, but also clubs like Future Farmers of America (FFA). 

The senior had a great game last night against the East Hall Vikings as he gained a lot of yards for Fannin and scored one touchdown to help the team earn a 49- 26 victory!

Writer’s Player of the Week- #21 Treylyn Owensby

Congratulations to Treylyn Owensby for being Team FYN Sports Player of the Week for Rebel Football! 

 

Treylyn is a dual athlete at Fannin County High School who participates in not only Football, but Track and Field. This is the second time the running back/defensive back has been chosen as player of the week because of his outstanding performance in last nights game against the Lumpkin County Indians. 

 

Not only did Owensby score two touchdowns, but he also earned over 230 rushing yards to put him over 1,000 yards for the season! 

Writer’s Player of the Week- #78 Miles Johnson

Player Of The Week, Team FYN Sports

Congratulations to Miles Johnson for being Team FYN Sports Player of the Week for Rebel Football! 

Miles is a senior at Fannin County High School who is a defensive and offensive linemen on the football team. Not only has the senior played football all four years of high school, but he is also going on playing his fourth year of baseball for the school. 

The senior has been awarded for his outstanding performance in football by earning the title of All Region for the past three years, an All State Honorable Mention, Lineman of the Year, and he has also been ranked in the Top 25 Linemen for the state of Georgia! Johnson has also been awarded in baseball by earning  a spot in All Region, and another All State Honorable Mention.

The dual athlete had an amazing game last night against Greater Atlanta Christian for Fannin as he made a lot of big stops and held the Spartan’s defense so that the Rebels could put the ball into action. Johnson proved to be an asset in the game as Fannin celebrated their seniors for senior night. 

Writer’s Player of the Week – #88 Jalen Ingram

Player Of The Week, Team FYN Sports

Congratulations to FYN’s player of the week for the Fannin Rebels Football team, Jalen Ingram! Ingram is a Junior at Fannin County High School who is going on his third year of playing the sport for the school. 

Not only does the athlete play football for the school, but he has also participated in basketball for the past two years where he plays the position of post. Ingram has been an asset to Fannin Football this season in his position of tight end and defensive linemen. The Junior made one of the biggest plays of last nights game as he caught an interception and ran it for a 75 yard touchdown to extend Fannin’s lead!

Jalen has been recognized for his outstanding performance in both of his sports by receiving awards. Ingram earned the Rookie of the Year award for basketball his freshman year and was given the title as a First Team 7AAA All Region pick this past football season.

Treylyn is a senior at Fannin County High School who is a running back and defensive back on the football team. Not only does the senior play football, but he also participates in track and field for the school.

The dual athlete had an amazing game last night against the Chestatee War eagles as he ran in two touchdowns for Fannin and proved to be an asset in the game!

Congratulations to Jakob Tuggle for being Team FYN Sports player of the week for Rebel Football! Tuggle is a senior at Fannin County High School who plays the position of Tight End and is an asset on the Defensive Line.

Not only has Tuggle spent the past four years playing football, but has also spent his time taking honors classes at the high school. It’s not only FYN who has noticed Tuggle’s talent. The player was even chosen to be a Player of the Week for Kevin Panter Insurance last week!

Player Of The Week, Team FYN Sports

Congratulations to Fannin County High School junior, Cohutta Hyde, for being Team FYN’s player of the week for Rebel Football. Hyde plays at the position of wide receiver and defensive back. When the athlete steps onto the field, he gives the game his all and you can tell by his outstanding performance.

The Junior is a dual athlete who not only excels in football, but also basketball. In the 2018 Tip-Off Tournament, Hyde was selected to receive the title of an All-Tournament Player. Cohutta proved to be vital to the Rebels last night as he caught long passes to gain yards, had a long run on a return, earned one interception on defense, and scored a touchdown.

December 16-22 Player of the Week – Reagan York

Congratulations to Lady Rebel Reagan York for being FYN’s player of the week for the week of December 16. York is a freshman at Fannin County High School who get to play on varsity.

The freshman is very involved at school where she also plays volleyball and takes honors classes. Reagan is an asset on the team where she puts her all into the game.

Player of the Week – Dahla Myers

Congratulations to senior, Dahla Myers, for being team FYN’s player of the week. Myers is a guard for the Fannin Rebels basketball team who has played the sport for the school for the past three years.

Myers is a triathlete who has not only played basketball for the school, but has also ran cross country and played soccer. The senior has been awarded for his great performance since his freshman year when he received the title of JV Player of the Year for soccer. He even managed to carry the same title into his sophomore year for basketball. His junior year, Myers received the MVP award for soccer.

Not only does the senior have athletic accomplishments, but also academic ones. Dahla was recognized for his academic excellence his sophomore year when he was inducted into the National Honors Society. The senior’s plan after graduation is to attend the University of North Georgia in Blue Ridge.

 

December 2-8 Player of the Week – Chase Culpepper

Congratulations to Fannin Rebel Chase Culpepper for being Team FYN’s player of the week for the week of December 2-8. During this week, Fannin took on Dawson County and North Hall.

Chase is a senior at Fannin County High School who has played as a guard for the school for four years. Culpepper is very involved in school as a member of FCA, academic team, and National Honors Society. The senior is an honors student who dual enrolls in college classes. His plans after graduation are to attend college and earn a degree.

Player of the Week – Reagan Henderson

Congratulations to Lady Rebel, Reagan Henderson, for being FYN’s player of the week. Henderson is a senior at Fannin County High School where she starts as a post and has played basketball for the school the past four years.

Not only does the senior play basketball, she is also an honor student who dual enrolls in college. Henderson also participated in track and field for the high school her freshman and sophomore year. The athlete was awarded for her hard work ethic and great attitude her junior year with the Sabrina Gibson award.

Henderson’s plans after graduation is to attend the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. Her hope for the future is to go into the medical field and become a neonatal nurse.

 

December 9-15 Player of the Week – Brady Martin

Congratulations to Fannin Rebel Brady Martin for being FYN’s player of the week for the week of December 9. Martin is a sophomore at Fannin County High School who has played for the school for the past two years.

Martin is a dual athlete at FCHS where he also plays baseball. Not only does the sophomore juggle two sports, but also honors classes. Last year, Brady was awarded with the JV Player of the Year award.

December 16-22 Player of the Week – Andre Bivens

Congratulations to Fannin Rebel Andre Bivens for being FYN’s player of the week for the week of December 16. The sophomore has played basketball as a guard at Fannin County High School for the past two years.

Andre not only spends his time playing basketball, but also football. The dual athlete is an asset to the team with his endless hustle on the court.

December 2-8 Player of the Week – Saidee Collins

Congratulations to Lady Rebel Saidee Collins for being FYN’s player of the week for the week of December 2. During this week, the forward put on a great games against Dawson County and North Hall.

Collins is a junior at Fannin County High School who has played basketball for the past three years. Saidee not only plays basketball, but she also plays tennis at FCHS and is a member of FCCLA. Last season, the junior was awarded for her great attitude with the JV Lady Rebel Award.
