William Jack “Bill” Towery: Obituary

William Jack “Bill” Towery, age 78 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 in the Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.  He was born on January 14, 1942 in McCaysville, GA to the late Jack Towery and Edna Galloway Towery.  Bill worked at Tennessee Chemical Company and City Services as a general foreman from eighteen years old until his retirement.  He served his country in the United States Army as a sergeant. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Sandra Jo Hughes Towery; brother, Glenn Towery and infant sister, Janice Towery.

Survivors are son, William Towery of the Copper Basin; daughter, Tiffany Towery of the Copper Basin; brothers, Earl Towery, Neal Towery and Joe Towery and sisters, Jacqueline Turner, Janet Skelley and Patricia Howe.

The family will gather at the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 11:45 a.m. and leave in procession for the graveside service at 12:00 p.m. to the Pantertown Cemetery.  Military Honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.  There will be no visitation.  Memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to the Pantertown Cemetery Fund, C/O Glenn Hughes, 49 Stuart Mountain Road, Mineral Bluff, GA  30559.  Condolences may be sent to www.akinsfuneralhome.com.  Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill is in charge of the arrangements.
