Mike Bennie, age 65 of McCaysville passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Fannin Regional Hospital. He was born on October 2, 1954 in Copperhill to the late Claude Eugene Bennie and Susie O’Dell Wilcoxin Bennie. Mike worked at Tennessee Chemical Company for twenty-four years as an equipment operator. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mike was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife of forty-three years, Debbie Bennie; brothers, Donald Bennie and Scott Bennie (Rose); sister, Susan Patterson (Mann); nephew, Rodney Patterson (Pam); great-nephew, Lucas Patterson; great-niece, Maci Patterson and special cousin, Larry Bennie also survive.

Memorial services will be conducted on Tuesday evening, December 3, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, December 3, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour of 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.
