The downtown Blue Ridge Farmer’s Market has expanded since the beginning of the season. Vendors filled West Main Street, in front of the Fannin County Court House on Saturday, August 31, 2013.With all of the controversy taking place this year regarding the downtown Blue Ridge Farmer’s Market, business is still booming. Earlier this year, the Blue Ridge City Council wanted the vendors that gathered downtown to relocate to the newly renovated state farmer’s market site located on Summit Street. After months of going back and forth, the city council decided to allow the vendors to stay where they were until the end of the season.

Dozens of vendors lined the streets selling an assortment of goods ranging from handmade bird houses, homemade baked goods to fresh produce, including the sold out supply of scupadine grapes. With the end of the harvest season approaching, these goods will slowly diminish until next year.

Where will the vendors be next year? Count on FYN to keep you up to date.
