Betty Jean Bennie White, age 92 of McCaysville, GA passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Pruitt Health Care in Blue Ridge, GA. She was born on March 5, 1927 in Ducktown, TN to the late William C. Bennie and Jewel Morgan Bennie. Mrs. White retired after twenty-five years with the Fannin County Board of Education as a custodian. She was a member of the McCaysville Church of God and the Women’s Group. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, William C Bennie and Jewel Morgan Bennie; husband, Joe Ben White; daughter, Joann White; granddaughter, Heather Towery; brothers, William Bennie, Clyde Bennie, Claude Bennie, Tom Bennie, Ralph Bennie and Hoyt Bennie.

Survivors are daughter, Betty Jewell Towery of Anderson, SC; sons, Joseph White of Houston, TX and Henry Jackson White of Houston, TX; sister, Doris Robinson of Hass Lake, MI; five grandchildren, Jason White, Kevin White, Michael Towery and Jennifer White and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. from the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Rodney Patterson and Luther Mann Patterson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
