Mary Ellen Collis Hardin

February 27, 1922 – February 26, 2019

Mary Ellen Collis Hardin, age 96, of Decatur, formerly of Blue Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in Social Circle. Born on February 27, 1922 in Blue Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Willie Frank Collis and Bonnie Barnes Collis. She retired from Macy’s where she worked in Sales. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Frank James Hardin, and children, Jack Hardin, Nick Hardin, and Phyllis Garrett.

She is survived by her son, Frank Hardin of Conyers; grandchildren, Mark Hardin, Rebecca Hill, Steve Hardin, David Hardin, Deanne Hardin, Leigh Hardin, Randy Hardin, Lorrie Garrett, Amy Baker, and Eddie Garrett; fourteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment followed in the Crestlawn Cemetery with Kenny Garrett, Mark Hardin, Steve Hardin, David Hardin, and Randy Hardin serving as pallbearers.
