Mildred “Midge” Cochran Ashe

August 1, 1939 – January 22, 2019

Mildred Cochran Ashe, better known as “Midge”, age 79, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Tueday, January 22, 2019 at her residence. Born in Fannin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Verlin Dirl and Delia Magnolia Shook Cochran. Midge was a long time and faithful member of the Young’s Chapel Baptist Church where she served as pianist, Choir Director, Bible School Teacher and Christmas Play Director for many years. She had worked at Sky City Department Store as a Department Manager and later for the REVCO/CVS Pharmacy. Midge was a loving wife, mother and especially grandmother. Her husband, Joe H. Ashe precedes her in death.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Terresa and William McClure of Blue Ridge; Grandchildren and their spouses, Seth and Katlin McClure of Morganton, GA, Tyler and Emily McClure of Cleveland, TN and Makenzie McClure of Blue Ridge, GA; great grandchildren, Kayden-Leigh McClure, Kaisley McClure and Boone McClure; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Sheila Cochran of Blue Ridge, GA; special nephew and niece, Chris and Kristy Cochran and Jennifer Cochran all of Blue Ridge, GA; great nephews and nieces, Cash Rittenberry, Ty Cochran, Learh Rittenberry and Cord Cochran.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Young’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Wallace Parks, Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Kenneth Mann officiating. Music was provided by the Macedonia Singers. Interment followed in the Young’s Chapel Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tyler McClure, Seth McClure, Chris Cochran, John McClure, Butch Shook and Jeff Stanley. Honorary pallbearers were Junior Farmer, Charlie Cochran, Johnnie Cochran, Ryan Watkins, Jack Cochran, Clifford Stanley, Lynn Arrowood, Jimmy Shook and Danny McGill.
