Clark G. Byers

July 20, 1937 – November 22, 2018

Mr. Clark G. Byers, age 81, of Culberson, NC passed away on November 22, 2018. He was born in Union County, GA to the late Frank H. and Reba Loudermilk Byers. Mr. Byers was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Culberson Baptist Church. Clark retired as a Rural Route Carrier with the United States Postal Service. He has also owned and operated Byers Store in Culberson since 1965. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Cearley and Betty Byers.

Survivors include his loving wife since 1959, Lilli Mae Bryson “Sue” Byers of the home, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bryan Elwin and Tracy R. Byers and David Alan Byers; and one granddaughter, Kristin Gayle Byers.

Funeral Services were conducted on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Mashburn officiating. Music was provided by Rebecca Mashburn. Interment followed in the Byers Family Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: James Lawrence, Jeff Helton, Jack Bryson, James Bryson, George Mashburn and Curtis Taylor. All other family and community friends have been asked to serve as an honorary escort since there is too many to name.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
