Water is Closer for My Mountain

Fannin County Water Authority held an information session in place of its regularly scheduled meeting due to the illness of several board members. The My Mountain subdivision has long awaited the news it received at today’s information session. After meeting with the USDA earlier this week, the authority was informed that they are only lacking a few minor steps in obtaining their grant and loan funds. While the authority didn’t go into the details of these requirements, it did say the authority expects to begin accepting bids on the jobs sometime in March.

“We hope to break ground by June 1st”

Mike Queen said.

County Attorney, Lynn Doss, explained changes in the water installation and contract for service and discussed how property owners would receive this information and the contract.

“We will mail each property holder a copy and then, 30 days from the deadline, we’ll send those who haven’t responded a certified letter”

she said.

These packets of information and the contract will begin going out January 18, 2013 and all who wish to participate must respond by March 1, 2013. The forms may also be downloaded from the Fannin County. However, the forms must be signed in blue ink, notarized and returned to the water authority.
