The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team recently competed at the Johns Smith Invitational before attending a Quad Meet Dual with Gilmer, Northwest Whitfield, and Calhoun.The Rebels earned a 9th place finish with a 54-15 win over Mt. Pisgah. Kayleb Chancey and Keaton Towe earned 4th place finishes.

The Rebels next took part in the aforementioned quad dual meet at Gilmer High School, an emotional homecoming of sorts for new FCHS head coach, David Henson, who was a long-time assistant in the Gilmer wrestling program, and an integral part of the Bobcats’ 13 state championships.

Fannin fell to Gilmer 57-12, with Barrett Webb getting a pin victory for the Rebels. Next the Rebels faced Calhoun, winning 51-18 with Webb and Avery White both getting winning via pin. Last the Rebels faced the Bruins of Northwest Whitfield, falling 63-12.

Fannin will be at Dawson County on Friday December 19th for a Tri Meet Dual with Dawson and Lumpkin.
