Towns Beats Fannin

Team FYN Sports

This past Saturday, the Fannin Rebels traveled to Towns County to take on the Indians. The Rebels were looking to redeem themselves from the first time they played Towns and endured a 52-40 loss.

Both teams played with great intensity from the start of the game. They both played a great defense that made it hard for the other to successfully drive to the basket. Fannin earned the majority of their points with passes down low to Jalen Ingram who led the Rebels in scoring with eleven points overall. The Indians closed out the first quarter with an early 20-15 over the Rebels.

As Towns scored their points from outside shots, the Rebels began to drive the lane. Rebel senior, Dahala Myers, showed off his great ball handling skills as he made his way to the basket to put four points on the board. Andre Bivens showed off his speed as he beat Towns to the basket and added two points to Fannin’ score. Fanning kept fighting as Towns County went into halftime with a 31-27 lead.

Fannin started to have a new method of scoring to start the second half of the game. They started to follow the Indians lead as they took outside shots. Rebel senior, Chandler Kendall, added eight points on the board from outside the key. Cohutta Hyde continued the trend as he contributed five points to Fannin’s score for the night. The Rebels started to fall behind as Towns closed out the third quarter with a score of 52-35.

The Rebels struggled to score more points while the Indians advanced their lead. Despite Fannin’s fight at the beginning, Towns closed out the game with a 67-39 victory. Fannin’s loss put their overall record at 3-21 while their region record stayed the same at 0-11. Catch Fannin’s next game this Friday at 8:30pm as they travel to take on Greater Atlanta Christian.
