Chief Magistrate Brian Jones initially made sure that all information pertaining to the suspects was correct. Upon questioning each suspect, it was found that the addresses given to booking officers were incorrect as well as the spelling of their last names.

While each suspect had listed as being from Louisiana, it was discovered that Melisse Marmon has been living in Kennesaw, Ga for three years. The other two suspects had recently moved in with Ms. Marmon and had only been in the area for a couple of months.

Melisse Marmon was read the initial charge against her, a felony warrant for aiding in a crime. She replied she was aware of the charge but added that at that time she “did not know a crime had been committed.”

Rashad Marmon was next to appear in front of Chief Magistrate Jones. He acknowledged the charge against him of felony armed robbery. In discussing the terms of a bond, it was revealed Rashad has an outstanding warrant in Houston, Texas for felony theft.

Hammond Marmon was last to approach the Judge, and like the previous suspects acknowledged the charge against him of felony armed robbery. When bond was discussed Marmon became distressed questioning the actions of the court.

He said to the judge, “I thought you were presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

To which District Attorney Alison Sosebee replied, “Your Honor, I expect there to be many more warrants for these individuals.” Stating that it was still an open investigation.

Hammond Marmon then made a case for why he would not be a flight risk, addressing the judge once again, “Sir, I don’t have any criminal history.”
Marmon added, “I was recently shot” referring to a gunshot wound to the stomach that he had received. “I am not a flight risk because of my medical.”

Chief Magistrate Jones ultimately decided to deny all three suspects bond at this time citing that it is still an open investigation. All three suspects also rejected the option of representation from a public defender and opted to have an outside attorney. No attorney was present with the suspects today in court.
