September 1st parents and relatives gathered at Blue Ridge Elementary to honor their star students. The students ranged from Kindergarten to Fifth grade and were chosen by their homeroom teachers as the star students for the month of August. They were chosen because they met the three P.B.I.S. (Positive, Behavioral, Intervention, and Support) expectations that the school has. These expectations are their ability to be Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn. They were also honored for being well-mannered, courteous, and obedient.

As the children came into the cafeteria they ran and sat with their loved ones receiving praise for the wonderful things they’re doing. They all lined up to receive cupcakes as a reward. After they had all finished their cupcakes they were called up one by one from Fifth grade down to Kindergarten to receive Blue Ridge Elementary water bottles.

They also honored a Star Staff which was Angie Whitener, she received a Blue Ridge Elementary bag and a cupcake.

The star students that were honored for August were: Zander Sparks, Zoe Walker, Lucy Mathis, Copen Daves, Laycie Cruse, Lee Stuart, Chloe Gaddis, Aubree Franklin, Jackson Thigpen, Cassidy Walden, Brody Burnette, Henry Schueneman, Kole Stanley, Landon Isley, Morgan Mendez, Isaiah Stephens, Elohi Law, Adeline Beavers, Chevy Phillips, Nathan Spencer, Makayla Stiles, Emma Buchanan, Nicholas Honeycutt, Noah Burnette, Emme Holloway.
