Stan Helton Announces for Chairman Board of Commissioners

Stan Helton, a Fannin area native, is seeking the office of Chairman Fannin County Board of Commissioners as a Republican candidate in the upcoming May 24th primary.
A McCaysville Elementary and West Fannin High School graduate, Stan went on to obtain a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree from the University of Georgia. He retired in 2012 after a 34 year career as a Petroleum Industry Manager with Citgo Petroleum Corporation, Sinclair Oil Corporation, and Brenntag North America.
Stan is a very active volunteer around Fannin County serving as the current Chairman of the Fannin County Water Authority, member of the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission, and the Tri State Development Board. Also he currently serves on the Ducktown Basin Museum board, and as a volunteer at the Fannin Food Pantry. His mother Louise Helton owned the Best Buy fabric store in McCaysville and his sister Marilyn owned the Radio Shack in Blue Ridge for many years. Stan and Heather have two Army veteran sons and six grandchildren. They reside in McCaysville and their family church is 1st Baptist McCaysville – Copperhill.
