Mr. Henson has issued the following statement regarding the Garton issue:
The Fannin County School District recently became aware of allegations that a teacher, Amy Garton, may have engaged in unprofessional contact with a student and that an investigation was being conducted by law enforcement. Before any investigation was completed or potential termination proceedings were begun, Ms. Garton submitted her resignation from employment, which was accepted by the Board of Education at its meeting on February 12, 2015.
