The Fannin County High School Rebels football team rode to Buford to take on the Wolves of Buford High School. Buford was bigger and faster than Fannin and it showed early and often, as the Wolves cruised to a 51-0 victory.Fannin’s first drive, resulted in a Rebels’ punt, after a three and out. On the Wolves’ first offensive play, Quinn Davis raced 56 yards to the end zone for the first rushing touchdown of the game. With 9:46 left in the first Fannin faced a 7-0 deficit.

On the ensuing drive, Fannin’s first first down came via an 11 yard reception by Noah O’Neal; however a fake punt attempt that fell incomplete gave Buford the ball on the Fannin 44 yard line.

After an eight yard run on first down, Jarod Petty set up third and one with a crushing tackle of Dontravious Wilson; however, it was all for not due to Donte’ Gordon’s 36 yard touchdown run on the very next play.

Fannin fell behind 14-0 with 5:57 left in the first quarter. The Rebels’ offense was unable to procure a Fannin first down and was forced to punt back to Buford.

The Wolves moved the ball 55 yards in five plays to go up 21-0 with 1:52 left in the first. On the ensuing drive, Fannin failed to convert a fourth down. Buford took over with a first and 10 on the Fannin 15 yard line.
One play later, Wilson scored on a 15 yard touchdown. Buford led 28-0 as the first quarter came to close.

The second quarter saw the Wolves tack on two more touchdowns and a field goal to take a 44-0 lead into half-time.

With each team playing mostly backups and young players in the second half, only one more touchdown was scored in the game, and Buford cruised to a 51-0 shutout victory.
