The Fannin County High School Rebels baseball team took to the road to Rabun County looking to work over the Wildcats. However, the home team was the victor, as Rabun ran away from the Rebels 5-2.The Rebels acquired the first run of the day in the top of the first inning, when Daniel Roper’s RBI single scored Peyton Satterfield. Rabun responded with a run of its own, when Rebels’ starting pitcher, Brady Stanley, was called for a balk with a man on third.

The Rebels returned to lead dog status in the top of the third. Peyton Satterfield barely beat the tag on a single to the short stop. He then stole second on the first pitch Kolton Galloway’s at bat. Satterfield then stole third and home when the Rabun catcher overthrew third. No more Rebels runs were scored the rest of the day.

Rabun’s run began in the bottom of the third. After Rabun’s first to batters walked, Noah O’Neal was brought in to man the mound for the visitors. An RBI single to center field tied the game. The Wildcats followed with a deep fly ball that Satterfield chased down with a diving catch for the out; however, Rabun took the lead, 3-2. An RBI sac grounder increased the lead to 4-2 before the inning ended.

O’Neal was the only Rebel to reach first in the fourth, with a single. With two outs and a man on first, a Rabun base clearing double put the Wildcats up by three, 5-2 as the fourth inning came to close. The score would remain the same throughout the game.
