The Fannin County High School Rebels football team traveled to Union County to take on the Panthers. Fannin failed to rise against its northern Union neighbors, as Fannin fell 30-15. The Rebels were without star running back, Peyton Satterfield, and lost starting quarterback, Trevor Stone, for a few plays due to an ankle injury acquired while making an interception on defense. The Panthers began the game with the ball; however, Stone’s aforementioned interception gave the Rebels the ball with excellent field position. The Rebels were unable to turn the turnover into to points as Taylor Brodowsky’s 25 yard field goal was pounced on by the Panthers.

The Rebels’ defense forced a Union punt; however, the Fannin offense was unable to take advantage once again. The first score of the game came at the paws of the Panthers, who blocked Brodowsky’s punt and recovered the ball in the end zone. Brodowsky took the place of Stone, who is also the Rebels’ starting punter.
Down 7-0 going into the second quarter, the Rebels were able to answer on the ensuing drive, when Blake Henry scored on an 18 yard scamper. The game was tied 7-7 after a successful Brodowsky extra point.
The Panthers would not be denied, as Union drove 80 yards on the next drive to go up 13-7 after a failed point after attempt. A Fannin fumble was also turned into a field goal, and the Panthers led 16-7 at the half.
The Panthers increased its lead to 23-7 as the third quarter was coming to a close. Fannin responded with a 76 yard drive resulting in a one yard touchdown plunge by Henry, his second of the night. Henry also scored on the subsequent two point conversion to cut the lead to 23-15.
Union sealed the game with another score with less than a minute clock to make the score 30-15.
