After losing a school record 10 games in a row the Kennesaw State Fighting Owls have won three of five, including the latest two game win streak. On a night when the home school was celebrating the 300th victory of the coach, the Fannin Rebels’ fell hard in the three dual matches at Gilmer High School. The Rebels went 0-3 against the Phoenix of Sonoraville, the home school Bobcats, and the Spartans of West Hall, with a combined score of 153-58. (more…)

AL MVP Home on the Ranger

Texas Rangers center fielder Josh Hamilton was named the American League MVP award today. Hamilton hit 32 home runs, 100 RBI, 40 doubles, and three triples. He also led the AL with .359, and .633 on base slugging percentage, as well as being second in the AL with .411 on base percentage. Falcons Ram Rams in 34-17 Win

The Atlanta Falcons went on the road to St. Louis to face a Rams team that was 4-1 at with the number one rushing defense in the NFL, and grinded out a 34-17 win, with a combination of running back Michael Turner’s radical rushing (131/yds 1 TD 4.7ypc), and quarterback Matt Ryan’s efficient passing (26-39 253 2 TDs). Tide Rolls, Leaves Panthers Black & Blue

The 63-7 home win by the Alabama Crimson Tide over the Georgia State Panthers last night was not the monkeystomping it could have been. Greg McElroy, who set a Crimson Tide single game record for completion percentage with 92.3 (12/13), threw for 157 yards with two picks and zero interceptions, but was pulled in the second quarter.

Hernandez Wins American League Cy Young

Seattle Mariners pitcher, Felix Hernandez won the prestigious award despite only winning 13 games, the lowest number of any Cy Young winner, with a full season of starts under his belt. Hernandez lead the majors with an 2.77 ERA. He also was number one in the AL in innings pitched as well as second in strike out. (more…)
