#3 Lady Rebels Defeat #10 Union 67-45. Assistant Coach Megan Queen Inducted into Fannin Sports Hall Of Fame
It was a special day for the Fannin County Lady Rebel Basketball Program. The #3 Ranked Fannin County Lady Rebels in front of their biggest crowd of the season defeated the #10 ranked Union Lady Panthers 67-45. After the game, Assistant Coach Megan Queen Orton was introduced to the crowd as one of the newest inductees to the Fannin County Sports Hall Of Fame.
1st Quarter
Fannin would get out to a quick 13-6 Lead. Jenna Young would hit the 1st 3 Point Shot of the night for Fannin to give them a 5-2 lead and the Lady Rebels would never look back. Jenna Young and Ava Queen would provide great defense with clutch steals in the quarter leading to Lady Rebel baskets. Young would score the 1st 5 points of the for Fannin. Regan York hit a free throw and Courtney Davis had 7 points in the quarter for the Lady Rebels.

2nd Quarter
Ellie Cook would come off the bench and had 5 points in the quarter including a long 3 point shot. Reigan ONeal and Riley Reeves also contributed off the Lady Rebel bench in the quarter. ONeal adding a bucket and Reeves with a nice corner three that lead to a Lady Rebels 25-14 in the half. Despite being in early foul trouble Becca Ledford would add 2 points in the quarter also.

3rd Quarter
The 3rd Quarter would belong to Senior Becca Ledford. The West Georgia Commit would have 9 points in the quarter. Courtney Davis added 6 points in the quarter. Regan York would score 2 points but her defense presence down low was key. York had a blocked shot and 4 rebounds in the quarter.

4th Quarter
Fannin would outscore Union 25-12 in the 4th Quarter. Courtney Davis added 11, Ellie Cook had 5, Becca Ledford had 4, Reigan ONeal had 3, and Regan York hit 2 Free Throws to complete the scoring in the quarter for the Rebels. Ava Queen picked up her 2nd blocked shot on the night in the quarter.

Regan York played great defense on Union’s Avan Hunter and was clutch from the free throw line.
Game Recap
A Complete team effort by the Lady Rebels. Union County came into the game with notable wins over 6A Habersham Central, White County, Stephens County, 2 Wins over Cherokee Bluff and a Win over Towns County. A very solid win for the Lady Rebels over the #10 Ranked Union County Lady Panthers. Fannin had 67 points, 38 rebounds, 13 assists, 10 steals and 3 blocks.
Fannin County Assistant Coach Megan Queen Orton Introduced as newest inductee in the Fannin County Hall Of Fame
Current Fannin County Assistant Coach and now Fannin County Hall Of Famer Megan Queen was introduced at halftime as one of the newest inductees to the Fannin County Sports Hall Of Fame. When Queen was announced the Fannin County Lady Rebels players rushed to greet her in a celebration that will be remembered for years to come.
Queen had an amazing career at Fannin under Head Coach Johnny Farmer. She was Team Captain and Scored 972 points as a Lady Rebel.

Fannin County Girls Get First Region Win With 64-32 Rout Over Model

Region 7AA Play started Tuesday in Blue Ridge. The defending Region 7AA Champions and State Runner Up Fannin Lady Rebels hosted the Model Blue Devils out of Rome.
Fannin ran out of the locker room with a record of (4-1) coming off their 1st loss of the season to #1 Ranked and 2 Time Defending North Carolina 1A State Champion Murphy. Murphy defeated Fannin last Saturday 58-48. Fannin is still ranked #3 in AA.
Model, entered the contest (1-3) with a win over Armuchee and have been defeated by Sonoraville, Adairsville and lost to Armuchee the opening game of the season. 2 of their 1st 4 games were played against Armuchee.
1st Quarter
Fannin had 16 1st Quarter Points. Courtney Davis had 7 points in the quarter, Becca Ledford had 6 and Reagan York had 3 points. The Lady Rebels took a 16-8 lead to the 2nd Quarter.

2nd Quarter
Senior Jenna Young, Reigan ONeal, and Courtney Davis each would score 4 points in the 2nd quarter. Ledford, Ellie Cook would score 2 points and Reagan York knocked down 1 Free Throw in the quarter as Fannin took a 33-15 lead to the half.

3rd Quarter
Ava Queen and Ellie Cook would each knock down a Free Throw. Davis continued her great night with 6 points in the quarter. Ledford had a layup and Reagan York had 4 points in the Quarter as Fannin had a commanding 47-22 Lead into the 4th quarter.

4th Quarter
Fannin finished the game strong with 17 4th quarter points. Reigan ONeal would lead the Rebels in scoring in the quarter with 5 points. Ledford had 4, Davis had 3, Cook had 3, and York had 2 points in the quarter.
Game Recap
Fannin won the game 64-32 and improved to 5-1, 1-0 in Region 7AA. Sophomore Courtney Davis had a game high 20 points. Becca Ledford finished with 14 and Regan York had 10 all 3 Lady Rebels in double digits on the night for Fannin.
What’s Next
#3 Fannin will host Rival #10 Union County Saturday at 3pm. This will be the 4th Top 10 Team Fannin County has faced to start the season. It is Hall Of Fame Night at Fannin and between games Saturday they will introduce all the inductees for the class of 2022 for the Fannin County Sports Hall Of Fame. Notable inductee is Fannin County Assistant Girls Coach Megan Queen Orton.
