Brandon Panter is Mountain Education Charter High School’s February Student of the Month. Brandon is a native of Blue Ridge and is finishing up his senior year with MEC. He currently works for Budget Tree Removal, and hopes to pursue a career in mechanics or construction.

The Fannin County High School FFA Horse Evaluation junior and senior teams recently placed in the State FFA Horse Judging Career Development Event. The event was held at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia on Feb. 7.

The Fannin County High School FFA Jr. Floriculture Team recently placed 15 in the Area 1 FFA Floriculture Career Development Event. The event was held at Gordon County College and Career Academy in Calhoun on November 11.

A group of 3rd grade students from West Fannin Elementary School had the opportunity to participate in an exciting project called “Flat Stanley.”

On February 4th, first grade students at West Fannin Elementary School participated in the Safe Id kits as part of the program developed by “McGruff the Crime Dog.” The Kiwanis Club, working with the school resource officers, fingerprinted the students.
