Fire report:

Friday February 6th 2015
Briar Ln.

Dispatched 03:14 Arrived 03:25 Cleared 11:06

Fannin County Fire Department responded to the above location for the report of a structure fire. First fire fighter arrived on scene and advised there was smoke and flames showing. E-11 arrived on scene and deployed 2 – 1 ¾” attack lines and the booster line to begin fire attack. Flames were showing through the roof from the B side of the structure moving towards the center of the structure. Two firefighters began an offensive fire attack entering the residence through the A side door on the far right hand side of the residence and encountered heavy smoke in the first room. The crew moved towards the center of the residence extinguishing fire as it was encountered. At this time E-11 established a positive water supply from the hydrant directly in front of the residence. Two other firefighters pulled the second attack line through the same door the second crew made entry to protect the egress point. Heavy fire was encountered in the rooms closest to the B side of the residence with fire running the attic space for the entire length of the structure. Crews used both attack lines to extinguish fire throughout the B side of the structure and the attic space. An attic ladder and chainsaw was used inside the structure to gain better access to the attic space and extinguish fire that was in that area. Several minutes went by before fire began to be fully extinguished. Crews extinguished the majority of the fire and swapped out with other firefighters once SCBA bottles became low on air. At this point an extensive overhaul process was started due to the heavy fire which had been throughout the attic and B side of the residence. Fire was fully extinguished and all crews returned to service. Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the family, and rehab for the firefighters.
