• Rebels Blessed at Blessed Trinity

    The Fannin County High School wrestling team blessed the Blessed Trinity Tournament with its presence. Five from Fannin placed in the tournament, with Matthew Seabolt and Ben Bruce placing the highest of all the Rebels. Both placed fourth, with Seabolt placing at 126 and Bruce placing at 132.

    The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels and Rebels basketball team traveled to White County for battles with the Warriors. The home teams took the sweep, due to a persistent pressing defense that procured a 46-38 victory for the Lady Warriors and an 80-32 victory for the Warriors.

  • Fannin Finds 40 Wins at Friendly

    The Fannin County USA Wrestling team competed in a friendly tournament against Pickens County and Cherokee County Saturday, January 11 at Jasper Elementary School. The thirteen Fannin competitors posted 40 wins in 65 matches, with 29 of the 40 coming via pin.

  • Fannin Finds Football Coach

    The Fannin County High School Rebels football team has hired a new head coach, Jim Pavao, former defensive coordinator at Gainesville High School. During Pavao’s time at Gainesville, the Red Elephants won one state title (2012), and four region titles. Gainesville also reached the final four and an additional state title game.

  • Wrestling Rebels Mangle Murphy and Upend Union

    The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team hosted the Union County and Murphy NC teams in a Tri-Dual Meet. The two seniors from the 2013-14 season, Blake Carroll and Matthew Seabolt, were honored as well. Murphy was mangled 54-24, in a Rebels rout, followed by a 63-18 pounding of the Panthers of Union.

    The 7-AAA All Region softball team has been announced. The Fannin High School Lady Rebels had three players make the All-Region Team. Amy Mintz was named to the First Team, while Mallory Deal, and Josie Milsaps were named to the Second Team.

  • Panthers Pummeled in Rebels Route

    The Fannin County High School Rebels wrestling team pummeled the Panthers of Union County 72-12. The Rebels route occurred in Union, in a three team Duals Meet. Fannin fell to Riverside 48-27 in the other match. The Fannin County Middle School Rebels wrestling team also made the trip, falling by six points, 48-42 to Union.
