Carl Edward Pack, age 96, of Epworth, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Pack was born on April 9, 1922 in Isabella, TN to the late John Harley Pack and Mizie Ledford Pack. He worked for the Tennessee Copper Company as a Truck Driver. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his yard, and spending time away camping. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by three brothers; Junior Pack, Dennis Pack, and Cecil Pack; and 4 sisters; Irene Pack, Mildred Pack, Joy Pack Hicks, and Dorothy Pack.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Vanette Pack of the home; daughters, Sue (Ronnie) Stillwell of Copperhill, Ann (Tommy) Ledford of Copperhill, and Cathy (Larry) King of Blairsville; grandchildren, Tim Stillwell, Felicia Deal, Cynthia Prince, Tommy Ledford, Jr., Jeffrey Burtin Ledford, Carla Bains, and James Lewis King; brothers, Ralph Pack of Ohio, Clarence Pack of Andrews, NC, and Kenneth Pack of Gastonia, NC; a sister, Polly Farmer of Murphy; 15 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Cheatham and Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Interment followed in Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Tim Stillwell, Elijah Deal, Corbin Head, Tommy Ledford Jr., Jeffrey Ledford, and James Lewis King.
