Wade J. Henderson: Obituary

Wade J. Henderson, age 70, passed away on March 9, 2018 at his home after an extended illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pearlie and Irene Henderson and his brother, Kenneth Henderson. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Darlene Henderson, daughters, Nicole Cochran- Durham, NC, Michelle Davis (Wes)- Cleveland, TN, Loretta Reno- Hixson, TN, Dana Price (Shannon)- Sale Creek, TN, Marcella Rogers – Cleveland, TN, Diane Allen- Tuscon, AZ, and Becky Dorsey (Joseph)- Cleveland, TN, 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister, Sue White – Blue Ridge, GA, several nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog, Spike.

Wade was self-employed for over 40 years as a Siding sub-contractor. He was loved by many and enjoyed life to the fullest including, enjoying driving his fast muscle cars, taking off-road rides each Spring with his best friend and wife, Darlene, in the Cherokee National Forest, watching Nascar races, and having fun wheeling and dealing with his friends.

Pallbearers include: Joshua Reno (grandson), Cody Price (grandson), Bradley Davis (grandson), Dennis Henderson (nephew), Dewayne Henderson (great-nephew), and Bill Nix (friend). Honorary Pallbearers include: Lowell Williamson, Harvey Standridge, and Ed Payne, Jr.

The family invites you to honor Wade’s memories on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Akins Funeral Home, Copperhill, TN. Visitation: 11 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. and Burial at Shoal Creek Cemetery.

Wade received a kidney transplant 20 years ago and to honor the donor, the family requests in-lieu of flowers that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org/donate.
