Fannin Schools closed Monday, county offices delayed

BLUE RIDGE, Ga. – The Fannin County School System has announced via Facebook all schools will be closed Monday due to continued hazardous roadways throughout the county:

Due to hazardous road conditions present throughout Fannin County:

All Fannin County Schools will be closed for students on Monday, December 11, 2017.

All 12-month employees, district directors, and principals should report by 10:00 a.m. (work hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

The day will be an optional workday for 190-day personnel (work hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

Paraprofessionals and other personnel who work less than 190 days should receive direction from their administrator as to whether to work.

Also, all Fannin County government offices and the Health Department will operate under a delay Monday morning, according to the Fannin County Emergency Management Agency (EMA):

Due to continued ice on some roads, all county offices and the Health Dept will delay opening until 10:00AM tomorrow.
Numerous spots in shady areas on secondary roads remain frozen and have patches of black ice.  The temperature is expected to drop below freezing after dark tonight and additional thawing is not expected until tomorrow.  County offices and Fannin County Health Department will resume normal operation at 10:00AM tomorrow.
