Fannin County Board of Education approves Candidates for Principal positions at Blue Ridge & East Fannin Elementary schools

The Fannin County Board of Education held a special called meeting on March 24th, 2017. During the meeting recommendations for candidates to serve as Principal in Blue Ridge & East Fannin Elementary schools were approved. April Hodges will serve as the new principal of Blue Ridge Elementary and Mathew Price will fill the position for East Fannin Elementary.
Ms. Sarah Finch, current Principal of East Fannin, was recently hired as the new Fannin County Director of Federal Programs, School Improvement, and Assessment starting July 1st. Ms. Shannon Miller, current Principal of Blue Ridge, was hired as the Fannin County Director of Student Services starting July 1st.
The Fannin County Superintendent of schools, Michael Gwatney, issued the following announcement & congratulations.
Dear FCSS Personnel:
Per our Charter and in response to upcoming principal vacancies, the School Governance Teams of Blue Ridge Elementary and East Fannin Elementary each held a called meeting yesterday. The teams met with prospective candidates, and both made a recommendation for the Board of Education. During a called meeting this afternoon, our Board approved the recommendations. For the 2017-2018 school year, April Hodges will serve as Principal of Blue Ridge Elementary School, and Mathew Price will serve as Principal of East Fannin Elementary School.
Mrs. Hodges comes to us from Effingham County; she currently serves as a principal. Mr. Price currently serves as the Assistant Principal of East Fannin Elementary. You may learn more about them at the following links.
