Lewis Stanley, age 89 of Blue Ridge, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Union County Nursing Home. Lewis was born July 21, 1927 in Fannin County, GA to the late Willard Stanley and the late Dora Ledford Stanley. Mr. Stanley served on the Blue Ride City Counsel for a number of years, and was a member of the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge. Lewis retired from the Tennessee Chemical Company after 37 years of service as an acid plant operator. Mr. Stanley was also a World War II veteran. A member of Temple Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by wife, Ovella Geneva Stanley, sisters, Dorothy Cochran, Shirley Ann Stanley and his brother, Taylor Stanley.
Survivors include: son, Terry (Bonnie) Stanley, son, Tony (Julia) Stanley, grandchildren, Tiffany Ingle, Mathew Stanley, Nathan Stanley, Laura Major, Sarah Stanley, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: Saturday, February 18, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Beck officiating. Music provided by: Beverly Thompson. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Nathan Stanley, George Major, Brett Ingle. Honorary pallbearers: Deacons of Temple Baptist Church.
