Mr. Jesse Floyd Postell: Obituary

Mr. Jesse Floyd Postell, age 88 of Epworth GA passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Postell was born on February 5, 1928 in Fannin County to the late John McKinley Postell and Althea Jane McArthur Postell. He was a self-employed farmer. Mr. Postell was a member of Helping Hand Fellowship Community Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, of seventy years, Lucy Jane Watson Postell, who passed away on October 9, 2016 and grandchildren, Jesse and Matthew Pope and great-grandchild, Dillon Davis.

Survivors are daughters and sons-in-law, Althea and Jim Davenport of Blue Ridge, Ellen and Donnie Pope, Carol and George Watkins and Brenda and Dusty Patterson; son and daughter-in-law, Arnold and Sue Postell and son, David Postell all of Epworth; brothers, Bill Postell of Blue Ridge and Burlin Postell of Dalton; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Jennings Neeld and Rev. Denny Hawkins officiating. Music was by Rev. Denny Hawkins, Sherry and Lacey Walden, Seth Davis and the grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mark Pope, John Postell, Jason Postell, Anthony “Peanut” Watkins, Shane Davenport, Mason Postell, Morgan Postell and Adam Bradburn. Interment followed in the Helping Hand Fellowship Community Church Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of the arrangements.
