Ovlin Jo Ann Brown, age 74 of McCaysville, GA passed away October 30, 2016. Mrs. Brown was born November 28, 1941 in McCaysville, GA to the late C. D. Tanner and Lou Emma Louise Shirley Tanner. A member of the Baptist faith, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brown, brother, Carl “Buddy” Tanner, sisters, Evelyn Sisson and Judy “Kricket” Carver, father-in-law Clifford E. Brown, and mother-in-law Anna Lee Brown. Jo Ann was a very loving wife and mother and a caring and dear friend who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include: daughter, Veronica O. (Anthony) Collins, son, Darren C. (Wendy) Elrod, sisters, Ruth (D. W.) Thomas and Ruby (Jeff “Shad”) Forrester, brother-in-law, Clifford “Junior” Brown, grandchildren, Matthew Ryan (Brittany) Elrod and Marissa Ann (Evan) Seymour, great-grandchildren, Khole Nicole Lee Elrod and Zoey Jo Lee Elrod. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be announced at a later date.

Donations on behalf of Mrs. Brown to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), and the Kingtown Baptist Church will be greatly appreciated.
