Mr. Orville Menees Stump, Jr. : Obituary

Mr. Orville Menees Stump, Jr., age 93, of Atlanta, GA passed away on October 12, 2016. Born in Hamilton County, TN, he was the son of the late Susan Bragg Stump and Orville Menees Stump, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Stump graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was also preceded in death by two wives, Dorothy Louise Panter Stump and Lynn Morgan Stump.

Survivors include one son, James Thompson Stump of Barnesville, GA; three daughters, Rubye Dianne Stump Swilling of Atlanta, GA, Sharon Joanne Stump of Barnesville, GA, and Cynthia Louise Stump Davenport of Acworth, GA; two step daughters, Terri Thomas O’Barr of Canon, GA and Joanna Thomas Taulman of Marietta, GA; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Barnes Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Zachary Swilling, Parks Davenport, Tanner Stump, Austin Mulacek, Mick White and Max White. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
