The Fannin County Board of Education held a special called meeting on November 30th, 2015.  During this meeting the decision was reached to dismiss Fannin bus driver, Charles Lee.  According to the termination page the driver let the child off when a parent wasn’t home.  Protocol is to not allow the child to get off the bus without a parent in sight.  The child was 5 years old and walked up the highway in underwear trying to find their family.  The 5 year old was picked up by a stranger, however returned safely to the family.

The Board expressed it is a hard decision to make and something it never likes to do.  However when it comes to the safety of the children that is the ultimate goal and must come first.  See video below:
