“If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.” Proverbs 28:9.Dear Lord of Grace and Glory, you want us to listen to you. You have so much to say to us about how you want to work in our lives. But so many of us turn a deaf ear to you. When we do this, we lose your companionship and make wrong choices from which we ask you to straighten out.
Teach us how detestable are our prayers for help when we have closed our minds to your laws and teachings – when we build our lives on our own wisdom and do not even read your word.
The wise person will hear and do what you say and then have a right to ask you for help. But the prayer of a hard heart will avail little.
With tender hearts we listen today to the voice of your Holy Spirit who fills us with your blessings in Christ.
Amen
