News

A fatal crash occurred last night, July 30th, at approximately 9:30pm.  The Fannin County Fire Department and First Responders received a call at 9:26pm and had rescue workers on the scene in 4 minutes, with a total of 16 coming to the scene of the accident.

The accident involved two vehicles, a white Ford pickup and a green Ford Ranger.  The wreck happened in the area of Ballewtown Road and Glen Hope Church Road in Fannin County.  FYN spoke with Fannin County Fire Chief Larry Thomas who told us one truck was overturned in a ditch and the other appeared to sustain read end damage.  Thomas told us the Fannin Fire Department cleared the scene at 11:36pm.  A SCRT team came on the scene and the accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.  FetchYourNews has not received an official report at this time.

There is one fatality reported at this time, a local teenager, 17 year old Ben McClure, did not survive the wreck, his brother, 18 year old Mason McClure was transported to Erlanger and sources tell us he has had surgery on his arm and is in serious condition.  The local teens are the sons of Jason McClure.   Our thoughts and prayers are with this family at this time.  Names of other passengers have not been released.  FYN will have more information as it becomes available.

Praying for the McClure family and for Mason’s recovery. The community has shown so much love and support for the McClure family and for the other kids who were in the accident and their families. It is so heartwarming to see everyone in Blue Ridge pull together to provide love and support in the face of such a tragedy. <3 May Ben's memory live forever in the hearts of those he touched.
