“A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” Proverbs 22:1.
Dear Lord, you own the cattle on a thousand hills, the wealth in every mine. You graciously give to each of us a portion of your great wealth for us to live on. Some have more wealth than others and both are happy with what they have. Others gain their wealth by paying the high price of losing their integrity and gaining a reputation of being dishonest. They do not care if they are not highly esteemed by others. Their avarice is insatiable. Nothing is ever enough.
You want your people to be known for their sterling character. It is so much better to get what we want from your hand of blessing rather than defrauding others to get the kind of riches that makes us spiritual paupers.
If this person who now prays has little or much of this world’s riches, give contentment and blessings through a good name that can be respected. We pray through Christ who has redeemed us.
Amen.
