John Henry Mealer, age 82, of Copperhill passed away Friday, July 17, 2015. Mr. Mealer was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a son of the late William and Martha Phillips Mealer and was of the Baptist Faith. He retired as a Steel Mill worker, having worked in Pennsylvania.
He is survived by son, Robert Mealer of Copperhill, TN; daughter, Esther Shaw of Dalton, GA; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Clifton Patterson and Rev. David O’Neal officiating. Music was by the Deal Family. Pallbearers included Johnny Payne, Ricky Wright, Zachary Payne, Wesley Cearley, Darren Waters and Ronnie Falls. Interment followed in the Grassy Creek cemetery.
