Mr. Sylvan Coolidge Green, age 94, of Copperhill, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin.Mr. Green was born February 4, 1921 in Copperhill, TN to the late George Newt Green and the late Emma Elizabeth Walker Green. He was a of member of McCaysville Church Of God, McCaysville Masonic Lodge, former mayor of Copperhill and retired Leadburner with Cities Service Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. He was preceded in death by wife, Blanche Davis Green, sisters, Othelow Green, Geneva Wise, Juanita Seabolt, and brother, Ishmael Green.
Survivors include: daughter, Shirley (Robert) Taylor, daughter, Charlene (Brian) Thomas, grandchildren, Robby (Lisa) Taylor, great grandchildren, Brooke and Anna Taylor, grandson, Russell Thomas, great grandson, Copland Thomas, sister, Regina Harper, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: Friday, July 3, 2015, at 2:00 pm from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music provided by: Beverly Thompson. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: members of McCaysville Masonic Lodge. Honorary pallbearers: Sam Painter, Eddie Clowers, Lowell Taylor, Buddy Smith, David Smith and L.W. Smith.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, GA, Thursday evening, July 2, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 9:00pm.
